Dinkominfo - Welcoming the Youth Pledge, Surabaya City Government (Pemkot) Surabaya is holding an action to unite young people in Surabaya with various backgrounds. The event was also called the Red and White Oath which was held at the Tugu Pahlawan Complex in Surabaya, Saturday (10/26)
Involving thousands of junior high school students with national attire, in this Red and White Oath they unfurled a red and white flag along 2000 meters. During the event a theatrical action was held which told the story of the Archipelago and the Oath of Palapa by Gajah Mada.
Surabaya Mayor Tri Rismaharini, revealed before the commemoration of Youth Oath Day and Heroes' Day, he wanted to unite Surabaya children with various backgrounds. The hope is that they will be able to fight for their nation and country by loving the symbols of the country.
According to Mayor Risma, it is important to instill in these children their love for this country and nation from an early age. If they already have a love for their country, then he will not have the heart to betray and hurt his own country and nation.
Antiek Sugiharti, Head of Surabaya Tourism Office stated that this event was held for the first time. He revealed that he would hold a similar event the following year. He added that there were more than 3,500 participants in this event consisting of Surabaya junior high school students as well as cultural communities from various regions in Indonesia
