Surabaya City Government (Pemkot) prepares isolation building for people under monitoring (ODP) with mild symptoms of Covid-19. This isolation building located in the South Surabaya area, is reserved for ODP with Covid-19 symptoms, such as mild fever, but not in a condition of shortness of breath. This building was prepared as a preventive effort to prevent the spread of Covid-19 in Surabaya.
Health Protocol Coordinator, Surabaya Covid-19 Task Force for the Acceleration of Handling, Febria Rachmanita said, besides being massive in spraying disinfectants, distributing free hand sanitizers and installing sterilization booths, Surabaya City Government also prepared an isolation building for ODP with mild symptoms of Covid-19.
"The isolation space (building, red) we make is indeed for (mild symptoms of Covid-19), no tightness, no fever, we put it in the isolation room," Febria said closely greeting, Sunday (22 / 03/2020).
Feny explained, in fact the ODP could do independent isolation at home for 14 days. This is in accordance with the protocol established by the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes). Even though Covid-19 is positive, but there are no symptoms such as fever and shortness of breath, it is indeed required to be independent isolation in the house for 14 days.
"What is sent (isolation) to the hospital is the tightness. Either there is a mild tightness or severe tightness it is sent to the hospital, "he said.
According to him, if the ODP adheres to the independent isolation set by the Ministry of Health, he is optimistic that everything can be safe. However, he also ensured, health workers from the Puskesmas continued to monitor the ODP for the next 14 days. "14 days of monitoring from the Puskesmas will continue. Once the Puskesmas sees every morning, then it will pass 14 days, meaning the virus has disappeared, "he explained.
While the isolation room prepared by the hospital, said Feny, is indeed reserved for ODP or patients in monitoring (PDP) who do have symptoms of COVID-19, such as shortness of breath and fever. There are at least 15 referral hospitals in Surabaya that have special isolation rooms. Each hospital has one to two isolation rooms.
"Most (isolation rooms) are in RSU Dr. Soetomo Surabaya, there are eight. In BDH Hospital (Bhakti Dharma Husada) Surabaya there is one, while Soewandhie Regional Hospital has two. But yesterday the Soewandhie Regional Hospital was renovated, so it will be finished next week, "he said.
The Head of the Surabaya City Health Office also revealed that the isolation building prepared by the municipal government in the South Surabaya area was standardized as in a hospital. In that building, there are 30 beds that have been prepared. However, this isolation building is reserved for ODP with mild symptoms of Covid-19. "Special ODP later, if you have a little fever, you will put it there. Once he (symptoms) is severe, then (isolated) to the hospital, "he said.
Later, it will be assisted by medical officers in monitoring and maintenance for ODP who are placed in the isolation building.
